Job summary

St. Michael’s Hospital Avera is seeking a hospital environmental services worker to maintain a clean and orderly facility in patient rooms, offices, and common areas. You will stock supplies, assist with linens, and ensure beds are prepared after patient discharge while upholding confidentiality and CARE values.

The role requires reliability, ability to work in a team, and attention to safety and sanitation standards in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with patient and hospital information.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean environment in patient rooms, offices, lounges, hallways, and lobby areas.
• Keeps cleaning carts stocked with supplies and assists with linen handling.
• Washes beds/mattresses and remakes beds after patient dismissal.
• Demonstrates CARE values and maintains confidentiality in all interactions.

We look forward to hearing from you!Position HighlightsResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, clinic, laboratory, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards.What you will doMaintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, waxing, drying, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.Maintain good customer relations at all times.Able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with data related to patients, physicians, co-workers and any other hospital information.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
