Job summary

Meriter Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper to perform cleaning, stock, waste removal and floor care to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. The role involves moving items and exchanging cubicles as part of daily operations.

The candidate will be expected to read and follow instructions, perform basic arithmetic, and deliver friendly, reliable service in a hospital setting. This is a 0.4 FTE, part-time position with opportunities to contribute to a supportive team.

• Must be able to read and write English and interpret measuring and hazard instructions on labels.
• Must be able to do basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock, remove waste and recycling; move and exchange cubicles.
• Perform floor care and maintain cleanliness in patient-care areas.

The Housekeeper position is responsible for a variety of duties such as; cleaning, moving, stocking, waste and recycling removal, floorcare, and exchanging cubicles. The housekeeper must have the ability to perform a wide variety of duties to maintain an environment that is aesthetically pleasing while maintaining maximum bacteriological control. Housekeepers must have the physical and mental ability to perform tasks related to the position.
