Job summary

Bedford Care Center of Newton is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to perform daily duties inside and outside the facility under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. This role supports a clean, safe environment for Residents and staff.

The ideal candidate can lift up to 50 lbs, pass a drug screen and background check, and has basic reading and writing skills to follow policies and regulations. Prior long-term care housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write at a level necessary to understand Company Policies, applicable Laws and Regulations regarding job duties; prefer previous Housekeeping experience in a long-term care Facility; must be in good physical condition and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dust mops, damp/wet mops floors in hallways, offices and common areas daily
• Cleans soiled areas, empties trash cans, replaces can liners, cleans bathrooms, sinks, toilets and other areas
• Keeps equipment and work areas clean, safe organized and keeps equipment and supplies properly stored
• Communicates courteously with staff in other Departments to adequately meet the needs of the Residents
