Job summary

Savant Senior Living in Downey, CA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents in our assisted living facility.

You will clean resident rooms and common areas, follow safety guidelines when handling chemicals, replenish supplies, and work with staff to schedule tasks while protecting resident privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior healthcare or senior living housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms; dust, vacuum, mop, and change linens.
• Maintain cleanliness in lounges, dining areas, halls, and restrooms.
• Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report maintenance or repair needs promptly.

Job description

As a Housekeeper at our Assisted Living Facility, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces. Your attention to detail, organization, and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to the well-being of and satisfaction of our residents. This position will report to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing bed linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas such as lounges, dining areas, hallways, and restrooms.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks, such as emptying trash bins, cleaning windows, and polishing surfaces.
• Follow established protocols and safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist in monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies, including toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
• Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of residents’ personal belongings and information.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to resident inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• May need to move furniture to ensure cleanliness of designated areas.
• Support with additional duties as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• The incumbent in this position does not have any direct supervision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

• At least 18 years of age.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)
• Special skills needed to meet client needs [California Code of Regulations Sections: 85065(f)/87411(g)]
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work, preferably in health care or senior living setting.

Pay scale :$17.00 to19.50 per hour
