Job summary

High Point Inpatient Campus is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe patient and facility environments across all shifts in Hyannis, MA. The position supports multiple programs with a focus on infection control, safety, and courteous service to patients and staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma (preferred), English communication, and ability to work well with others. Training in de-escalation and CPR may be provided; full-time, part-time or per diem status is available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, community areas, staff offices, group rooms, nursing stations, corridors, and other areas are clean, disinfected and odor-free.
• Wet mops daily or as needed and attend to spills immediately.
• Empty trash, clean containers and maintain clean windows and furnishings.
• Knowledge of chemical handling, SDS, OSHA safety, PPE and infection control standards.
• Replaces soiled linen, handles bio-hazard materials, and follows standard precautions.
• Coordinates with staff to maintain linen and scrubs inventory and attends mandatory trainings.

Housekeeper Requirements

• Must always present as courteous and professional;
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks;
• Must have basic communication skills;
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English. This includes the ability to speak, read and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions, complete documentation, and ensure safe and effective performance of duties;
• Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner;
• A basic understanding of boundaries and ethics;
• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations;
• TB Screening;
• Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program;
• CPR Certification.

Housekeeper Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, community areas, staff offices, group rooms, nursing stations, corridors, stairwells, etc., are clean, properly disinfected, sanitized, and free of odor at all times;
• Wet mops daily or as needed;
• Attend to spills immediately;
• Empty trash and clean containers;
• Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up;
• Clean windows, windowsills and other furnishings;
• Knowledge of chemical handling and Safety Data Sheets (SDS);
• Knowledge of chemical ingredients, mixing dangers and proper storage;
• Knowledge of OSHA safety precautions;
• Knowledge of Infection Control Standards - Hand Washing, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Blood spill kits, etc.;
• General knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, disinfecting, etc.;
• Replaces soiled linen, as needed, in patient rooms;
• Handles all Bio-Hazard;
• Utilize standard precautions at all times;
• Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients/clients as defined by the patient’s right;
• Coordinates with MHS/RS staff to maintain accurate linen and scrubs inventory;
• Attend all unit, facility meeting and supervisions as directed by Supervisor;
• Attend mandatory trainings;
• Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Program Director, or COO.

Housekeeper Qualifications

• Must be no less than 18 years of age;
• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred.
