Job summary

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is seeking a Housekeeper at the Plymouth Inpatient Campus. The role involves cleaning patient rooms and common areas, maintaining sanitation, and coordinating with staff to ensure a safe environment. Must meet basic requirements and be able to communicate in English.

The position runs Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexible hours. Education preferred is a high school diploma or GED, and CPR/HIPAA compliance are valued for patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

• CPR Certification.
• TB Screening.
• Certification in HPAO de-escalation program.
• HIPAA compliance expectations and confidentiality policy.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Mop floors daily, attend to spills, and empty trash.
• Clean windows and furnishings; manage linen inventory and scrubs as needed.
• Coordinate with staff and supervisors; attend mandatory trainings.
• Follow safety standards and infection control procedures.

Pay Range: $20 - $23.50/hr depending on experience
Status: Full Time; Sunday-Thursday

Housekeeper Requirements

• Must always present as courteous and professional;
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks;
• Must have basic communication skills;
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English. This includes the ability to speak, read and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions, complete documentation, and ensure safe and effective performance of duties;
• Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner;
• A basic understanding of boundaries and ethics;
• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations;
• TB Screening;

Housekeeper Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, community areas, staff offices, group rooms, nursing stations, corridors, stairwells, etc., are clean, properly disinfected, sanitized, and free of odor at all times;
• Wet mops daily or as needed;
• Attend to spills immediately;
• Empty trash and clean containers;
• Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up;
• Clean windows, windowsills and other furnishings;
• Knowledge of chemical handling and Safety Data Sheets (SDS);
• Knowledge of chemical ingredients, mixing dangers and proper storage;
• Knowledge of OSHA safety precautions;
• Knowledge of Infection Control Standards – Hand Washing, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Blood spill kits, etc.;
• General knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, disinfecting, etc.;
• Replaces soiled linen, as needed, in patient rooms;
• Handles all Bio-Hazard;
• Utilize standard precautions at all times;
• Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients/clients as defined by the patient’s right;
• Coordinates with MHS/RS staff to maintain accurate linen and scrubs inventory;
• Attend all unit, facility meeting and supervisions as directed by Supervisor;
• Attend mandatory trainings;
• Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Program Director, or COO.

Housekeeper Qualifications

• Must be no less than 18 years of age;
• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred.
