Job summary

PruittHealth Farmville, NC is seeking a full-time housekeeper to provide cleaning services that maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role follows facility policies and infection-control standards.

Responsibilities include floor care, trash removal, restroom cleaning, dusting, curtain changes, and moving furniture as needed. On-the-job training is provided; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors; may spray buff, strip or wax floors following center procedures.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior and interior, and replaces with a clean liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, baseboards, and doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.
• Dusts and damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous Experience With Healthcare Housekeeping Or Environmental Services Preferred
