Job summary

PruittHealth in Fort Oglethorpe, GA is seeking a dedicated full-time housekeeper to provide cleaning services that create a safe, sanitary, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role follows facility policies and state and federal regulations.

You will perform floor cleaning, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, dusting, window and curtain care, and adhere to infection control standards. On-the-job training is provided, with a high school diploma preferred.

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, and cleans tile floors and carpets as assigned.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms and cleans bathrooms, sinks, fixtures and toilets.
• Empties trash and maintains clean waste areas.
• Cleans glass surfaces, mirrors, windows, curtains and draperies as needed.
• Duster or damp-clean surfaces in patient/resident rooms and furniture.

Job Purpose

Provides cleaning services to provide a safe sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Housekeeping services provided are in accordance with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors.May occasionally be required to spray buff, strip or wax floors, following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior, cleans interior, and replaces with a clean can liner
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.
• Dust/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.
