Job summary

PruittHealth in Brevard, NC is seeking a dedicated housekeeping assistant to provide cleaning services that ensure a safe, sanitary, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors, in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, clean bathrooms and glass surfaces, move furniture, and follow infection-control protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors; may spray buff, strip or wax per center procedures.
• Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empty trash, clean interiors/exteriors, replace liners.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets per center procedures.
• Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Clean behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follow infection-control standards during cleaning.
• Prevent wax/dirt buildup in corners, baseboards, and doorways.
• Change and re-hang curtains/draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Move furniture to clean behind/underneath; turn bed mattresses after cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors.May occasionally be required to spray buff, strip or wax floors, following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.


• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.


• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior, cleans interior, and replaces with a clean can liner


• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures.


• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.


• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.


• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.


• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.


• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.


• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.


• Dust/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.


• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.


• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Minimum Experience Required

None, on-the-job training is provided

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous Experience With Healthcare Housekeeping Or Environmental Services Preferred
