Job summary

Westerwood is actively seeking a Housekeeper on a PRN (as-needed) basis with shifts from 7:00am to 3:15pm. Must be able to pick up open shifts Monday through Friday and occasional weekends to support a community of seniors.

The Housekeeper will clean hallways, common areas, apartments, rooms and bathrooms, following established schedules and procedures while maintaining equipment and supplies in good order.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills required, as there is frequent contact with residents, guests and employees.
• Must be capable of walking long distances.

Responsibilities

• Performs major and minor housekeeping duties including cleaning hallways, common areas, apartments, rooms and bathrooms.
• Follows cleaning schedules (daily, weekly and monthly) as outlined for the Housekeeping Department.
• Follows established housekeeping procedures to clean assigned areas, furnishings and fixtures.
• Responds to need for extraordinary attention to emergency housekeeping tasks where and when emergencies occur.
• Maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Recommends to the supervisor, equipment and supply needs of the department including comments regarding the condition and operation of equipment.
• Empties, cleans and relines wastebaskets.
• Accomplishes all tasks in order of priority.

Westerwood is actively seeking a Housekeeper to add to our exceptional team and community. This position is PRN (as-needed basis) from 7:00am-3:15pm. Must be available to pick up open shifts Monday-Friday and occasional weekends.

The Housekeeper is responsible for working in accordance with policies and procedures that are established to maintain a clean environment for the community.

• Previous experience in commercial housekeeping preferred, but not required.

• A wide variety of duties and responsibilities involving general knowledge of sanitation critical to the safety and welfare of the community. Ability to make quick decisions regarding cleanliness and infection control important.

• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills required, as there is frequent contact with residents, guests and employees.

• Must be capable of walking long distances.
