Job summary

The Pines at Poughkeepsie is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to join our caring team in Poughkeepsie, NY. You will perform daily cleaning duties, maintain resident rooms and common areas, and support infection control standards to ensure a safe, sanitary environment.

Starting pay is $16.71 per hour with weekly pay, comprehensive training, and opportunities for growth within a supportive, team-focused community that truly values its residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a team and follow hygiene protocols.
• Training provided for infection control and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing resident rooms
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
• Dispose of trash and waste
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed
• Collaborate with other staff to maintain a safe environment
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines and vacuums

What You'll Do:

* Day shift (7a-3p); rotating weekends

* WEEKLY PAY!!

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas and resident rooms
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
• Dispose of trash and waste
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed
• Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe and organized environment
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines, vacuums, etc.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Housekeeper include:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention and safety measures in long-term care are highly valued but not required; training will be provided
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
