Job summary

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Hourly Supervisor who leads by example and creates a great guest and crew experience. This hands-on role supports management with shift operations, training, and accountability while developing leadership skills and growth into restaurant management.

You will oversee shift flow, mentor teammates, and uphold food, service, and vibe standards in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years restaurant leadership experience
• Experience leading shift flow and training
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Team-first attitude and willingness to work with crew
• Reliability, professionalism, discretion and good judgment
• Genuine commitment to hospitality and guest experience

Job description

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is looking for an experienced, dependable Hourly Supervisor who leads by example and knows how to create a great experience for both guests and crew.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work alongside the team while supporting management with shift operations, service standards, training, and accountability. It's also a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their leadership skills and growing into restaurant management.

What You’ll Do

• Help oversee shift flow, delegate tasks, and set the crew up for success
• Lead by example in guest service and team communication
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members
• Assist managers with opening and closing procedures, shift checklists, cleanliness, and organization
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for the crew during shifts
• Uphold Mex 1's standards for FOOD, SERVICE & VIBE
• Help create a fun, positive, and welcoming environment

What We're Looking For

• Previous restaurant experience; 3 - 5+ yrs
• Leadership experience preferred
• A positive, approachable, and accountable leadership style
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A team-first attitude and willingness to work alongside the crew
• Reliability, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
• A genuine commitment to hospitality and the guest experience

Compensation

• $24-$26 per hour
• Full-time
