Job summary

Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square, part of the Accor network, seeks a Staff Accountant to manage payroll integrity and accounts receivable. You will report to Finance leaders, handle bi-weekly payroll, and prepare monthly close reports while maintaining confidentiality and delivering accurate billing for events and guest services.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with hotel operating systems and software.
• Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literacy with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Experience in a similar capacity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bi-weekly payroll processing and collecting supporting documentation according to company guidelines.
• Generate and provide accurate reports including the Daily Labor Report and Month End close.
• Maintain confidentiality with all payroll dealings.
• Assist with group, wedding, catering and embassy/diplomat billing.
• Assist with guest folios, credit card transactions and billing queries.
• Collaborate with Reservations, Sales, Catering and Banquets teams as needed.
• Process advance deposits for groups and catering programs; follow up on payments.
• Support the Assistant Director of Finance with month-end tasks as required.
• All other reasonable duties as assigned.
