Job summary

The Hamilton Hotel Washington, D.C. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting and financial operations, including AR billing, revenue and cash controls, and month-end close support.

You will collaborate with hotel operations, sales, and finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting. Qualifications include a degree in accounting and 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, with familiarity in Opera PMS and Hilton systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience with Opera PMS and Hilton systems a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable billing, including direct bill, group, and miscellaneous charges
• Assist with Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) related billing and reconciliation items
• Monitor and resolve chargebacks
• Perform daily on-site credit card reconciliations
• Prepare daily cash and check deposits for Brinks armored transport
• Review Night Audit shift reports for accuracy
• Manage House Accounts in Opera including month-end checkout and reactivation
• Prepare journal entries related to House Account activity
• Monitor group commissions and obtain DOSM approvals
• Assist with month-end close and audits
