Job summary

Shaner Hotels is hiring a Security Officer at the Durham Marriott City Center to protect guests and staff and to safeguard property. You will patrol the premises, monitor access, and respond to incidents to uphold safety standards throughout the hotel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience communicating with guests and team members.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for guests and staff by patrolling assigned areas and deterring threats.
• Be flexible with schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Maintain awareness of hotel facilities and services; handle deliveries after hours.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and respond to alarms, documenting actions promptly.
• Ensure guest room doors are secured and assist guests with access while respecting privacy.
• Respond promptly to accidents; follow departmental procedures and report incidents.
• Comply with state regulations and hotel/franchise guidelines for intoxicated guests.
• Report vehicle accidents/thefts and document relevant details.
• Protect guest and employee valuables, maintain confidentiality, and assist across departments.
