Job summary

Grand Sierra Resort is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect guests, team members, and property. The role requires calm response to emergencies, strong reporting, and collaboration with hotel departments and law enforcement when needed.

The position demands excellent communication, decision making under pressure, a valid Nevada gaming license and Alcohol Awareness card, and age 21+. Shift flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with ability to accurately and efficiently draft written reports.
• High level of understanding interpersonal skills to productively work with and respond to questions from Managers, staff, clients, Law Enforcement, and the general public.
• Excellent time management skills.
• High level of problem-solving abilities and an ability to remain calm in critical incidents.
• Must have clerical, coordinating, analyzing, supervising, instructing, driving, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, knowledgeable, and courteous service by protecting the property and safety of guests and team members.
• Respond calmly to emergencies (bomb threats, medicals, deaths, domestic disturbances).
• Patrol the property continually and secure the hotel against loss and/or damage.
• Observe all areas for safety concerns or suspicious circumstances.
• Complete investigations and reports by gathering details (who, what, where, why, how).
• Use a computer report writing system to complete reports under supervision.
• Maintain professional appearance and communicate concisely and respectfully.
• Cooperate with others to achieve common objectives.
• Meet requirements of regular attendance and flexibility for shifts.
