What Makes a McKibbon Sales Manager?
As a key member of the hotel team, the Sales Manager influences and is accountable for the property's revenue generation. Reporting to the General Manager or Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining high competencies to help the property achieve its business goals while embracing the McKibbon Guiding Principles.
A Day in the Life:
- Responsible for sales and revenue generation for the property.
- Manage segments based on team size and hotel needs.
- Maintain compliance and stay updated on new sales initiatives.
- Critique STAR reports and enter results in the month-end report.
- Implement and train on all McKibbon sales procedures, systems, and processes.
- Maintain positive relationships with management, owners, and clients.
- Support guest experience and satisfaction across operations.
- Act as the property's face by engaging with the local community.
- Check emails and voicemails daily, responding promptly.
- Participate in Daily Sales Stand-Up meetings.
- Review Envision's calendar and trace manager for past-due traces daily.
- Enter all sales activities into Envision.
- Review in-house guest ledger/arrival lists.
- Research and prospect leads.
- Set appointments, joint appointments, and tours.
- Update target accounts.
- Manage group blocks on schedules.
- Review budget and P/L with the general manager.
- Contribute to the creation of the Budget Workbook.
- Discuss participation in sales blitzes and training opportunities with the corporate team.
- Attend sales training as advised.
- Demonstrate strong listening skills and professionalism.

Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 1-year hotel sales experience preferred.
- Experience with major brands like Marriott, Hilton, or Hyatt preferred.
- Proven sales success.
- Ability to support operational teams and maintain sales documentation.
- Revenue management skills for market growth.
- Proactive sales strategies including calls, prospecting, and client visits.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with Envision is highly desired.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Effective communication across diverse backgrounds.
- Adherence to hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
