Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Room Service Server at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. You will receive and deliver guest orders, stock amenities, and ensure quality service with a courteous, attentive approach. You may cross-train as a Barista and support bar operations as needed to enhance the guest experience.

We expect clear communication, multitasking, and a professional demeanor. A High School diploma or equivalent and reliable attendance are preferred for this hourly hospitality role.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing with guests and staff.
• Must be effective at listening to and clarifying guest concerns.
• Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a courteous, service-oriented manner.
• Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings; maintain regular attendance.
• Maintain professional appearance and grooming; wear proper uniform and nametag.
• Comply with hotel standards to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Maximize productivity; identify problems and help implement solutions.
• Must handle problems, anticipate needs, and work with limited supervision.
• Understand and apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
• Cross-train in other hotel areas when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in hotel operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive orders, prepare orders and deliver items to guestrooms.
• Assist with Barista coverage when needed.
• Set up and deliver VIP amenities and all food and beverage orders.
• Operate the POS system and handle cashiering responsibilities.
• Answer phones according to standards and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Provide attentive, courteous service and communicate guest needs to proper departments.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction and report issues to management.
