Job summary

Swissôtel Chicago is seeking a Risk Management Supervisor to oversee day-to-day safety and security operations. You will guide the Risk Management team, respond to incidents, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for guests and Heartists.

Requirements include 2–3 years in security or risk management, supervisory experience, and strong leadership, investigative, and reporting skills. Knowledge of life-safety systems and Opera is a plus; onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education in Security, Risk Management, Hospitality, or related field is an asset.
• 2–3 years of related security, risk management, loss prevention, or safety experience; supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or similarly fast-paced environment is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Opera or other hotel systems is an asset.
• Strong leadership and ability to coach and support Risk Management Officers.
• Ability to remain composed, exercise sound judgment, and de-escalate situations during emergencies.
• Strong investigative, reporting, and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to Risk Management Officers during assigned shifts, ensuring safe operations.
• Oversee health, safety, and security of guests, Heartists, visitors, and assets.
• Lead with warmth and professionalism while maintaining a strong safety presence throughout the hotel.
• Understand life safety systems and lead emergency responses (fire, medical, bomb threats, severe weather).
• Respond to incidents and ensure timely, professional handling per procedures.
• Review incident reports, escalate significant matters, and ensure proper follow-up.
• Conduct thorough investigations and document findings.
• Enforce policies; partner with leadership to address violations.
• Coach and train staff for consistency and development.
• Assist with shift assignments, briefings, and follow-ups on risk matters.
• Interact with guests and Heartists professionally, de-escalating as needed.
• Patrol guest and staff areas, back-of-house spaces, and perimeter.
• Oversee Lost and Found, package pass, and key-control procedures.
• Identify hazards and take corrective actions or escalate.
• Maintain clear communication with leadership and other departments.
• Assist with audits, safety initiatives, and emergency preparedness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
