Choice Hotels International, Inc is seeking a Security Officer to manage daily safety operations and respond quickly to incidents on site at our Chicago-area hotel. The role is hourly with a pay rate of $24 per hour and includes responsibilities spanning safety inspections, incident investigations, and staff training.

The position emphasizes guest and employee safety, proactive security coverage, and collaboration with hotel leadership.

Qualifications

• Two years of Security experience, preferably at an upper upscale brand property.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Supervision experience in a security related field.
• CPR/1st Aid/AED Certification.
• Solid knowledge of Safety and Security operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to resolve conflicts, guests, supervisor and employee.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine loading dock and employee lot inspections.
• Respond to emergencies to safeguard guests, employees, and the hotel.
• Review accident investigations to ensure accurate reporting.
• Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure safety.
• Orient employees to the department and hotel.
• Provide on-the-job training on responsibilities.
• Maintain positive relations with hotel staff and outside vendors.
• Promote security training for management and staff.
