Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago is seeking an experienced security leader to assist the Director of Security. You will provide direct management of the department, oversee fiscal, personnel, staffing, and operational control, and ensure adherence to Rush policies and procedures.

This role requires five or more years of hospital security management, a degree in Criminal Justice or related field, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
Five or more years of managerial experience in hospital security or corporate security.
Must possess/maintain a valid PERC from IDFPR after completing a 20-hour security guard training.
Must possess/maintain a valid FOID card as issued by ISP.
Must complete a 28-hour firearms training course within two years of FCC application or show requalification.

Responsibilities

Assist Director with oversight of daily operations of the Security Services Department.
Supervise all line supervisors, conduct evaluations and discipline staff.
Participate in the recruitment and interview process of departmental employees.
Supervise the purchase, maintenance, and repair of department equipment.
Represent Rush in security matters at external/internal committees and organizations.
