Job summary

The Brown Hotel in Louisville is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee daily procurement and supply chain operations. You will manage inventory, control costs, and collaborate with culinary and finance teams to maintain high standards.

This role reports to the Director of Food & Beverage. Responsibilities include overseeing purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution; maintaining vendor relationships; developing forecasts and budgets; ensuring compliance with procurement programs; and

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication with vendors, leaders and associates.
• Knowledge of purchasing operations, inventory control and vendor management.
• Hotel or hospitality procurement experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution of F&B products.
• Maintain compliance with procurement programs and vendor standards.
• Manage receipt, inspection, storage and inventory tracking of products.
• Conduct monthly inventories and reconcile discrepancies.
• Lead purchasing systems and related tools, including Folio and Profitsword.
• Coordinate with Accounting for month-end processes.
• Monitor product quality, vendor deliveries and shortages, and communicate issues.
• Develop purchasing forecasts and assist with budgeting and cost allocation.
• Manage vendor contracts to ensure quality, cost efficiency and service.
• Lead safe transport and delivery of products throughout the hotel.
• Monitor slow-moving inventory and reduce waste and shrinkage.
