Job summary

St. James Hotel, Selma in Alabama seeks a seasoned General Manager to lead daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and adherence to policy across departments.

This role will oversee budgeting, payroll, compliance with labor laws, and drive operational excellence while mentoring the team to foster guest loyalty. The GM will partner with the executive team to optimize profitability, supervise F&B and front desk operations, and maintain high standards of service and asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years hotel management experience with focus on front office operations, accounting and labor laws.
• Proven supervisory experience and ability to lead a team effectively.
• Familiarity with hotel PMS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience budgeting and financial reporting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coach staff on service delivery using guest feedback and metrics.
• Oversee payroll, accounting, auditing, and cashiering records as determined by Corporate Office.
• Communicate clearly across departments to boost collaboration and guest experiences.
• Supervise cost and inventory controls to meet budgetary goals and operate efficiently.
• Plan and participate in hotel meetings; help establish operational policies with the General Manager in mind.
