Job summary

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, hosts the Marcus Leadership Development Program (MLDP), a 12‑month, full‑time, paid rotational track designed to develop future leaders in hospitality with hands‑on experience across multiple kitchens, outlets, and service teams.

You will rotate through culinary departments, follow a chef‑designed curriculum, participate in chef and management meetings, and work to build guest relationships and operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled or have a degree in hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or related field.
• Open to relocation for program placement and task-force work.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
• Desire to learn and contribute in a team-based environment.
• Willing to learn new software systems relevant to operations.

Responsibilities

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a leading national hotel management company based in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking individuals who are interested in kick‑starting their career in the hospitality space and being a part of our 12‑month Marcus Leadership Development Program (MLDP). Our Leadership Development Program has been meticulously designed to nurture and develop well‑rounded leaders by providing opportunities to work alongside experienced managers and executives, both on property and at corporate.

MLDP participants should emerge well‑equipped for roles in hotel leadership across a broad spectrum of specialties and departments. This program will focus on professional and personal growth by building upon previous experience, any formal education or training and an individual’s innate skills. After completion of the program, participants will be placed at one of our properties. The Marcus Leadership Development Program is a full‑time, paid development program.

This opening will be based at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. The Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is a 1,300 acre, AAA Four Diamond resort and spa recognized as a Top Resort in the Midwest by Conde Nast Traveler. This award‑winning, all‑seasons destination features over 746 guest accommodations, the WELL Spa & Salon, two championship golf courses, fitness facilities, a ski hill and terrain park, and 9 unique food and beverage outlets.

What you will be doing:

• Rotating Through Culinary Departments - Work through a structured rotation across multiple kitchens, including fine dining, banquets, garde manger, pastry, casual dining, and highvolume outlets to understand diverse culinary operations.

• Following a Culinary Leadership Curriculum - Build leadership skills, menu development knowledge, cost control understanding, and operational discipline through a chefdesigned curriculum.

• Participating in Chef & Management Meetings - Collaborate with chefs, F&B leaders, and crossdepartment teams to understand the full hospitality ecosystem.

• Developing Guest & Team Relationships - Engage with guests, associates, and leadership to strengthen communication and service culture.

• Completing Culinary Projects & Task Force Assignments - Support menu rollouts, seasonal programs, operational improvements, and openings at other properties.

What we are looking for:

• Currently enrolled or have a degree from a college, university, 2 or 4 year program in hotel, restaurant, hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, etc. OR comparable industry experience and training

• Must be open to relocation for program placement and following completion, should also be open to task force work assignments and opportunities

• Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner

• Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, analytical, and written communication skills

• Desire to learn and contribute in a team‑based environment

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment while remaining organized and detail oriented

• Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet the changing demands of the industry
