Job summary

Fairfield Inn & Suites - Birmingham is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to join our Engineering Team. This role supports daily hotel operations, performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks to keep guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces in top condition.

You will assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs, respond to maintenance requests promptly, and help uphold Marriott brand standards and safety policies while delivering

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and basic repairs.
• Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Strong focus on safety and guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, back-of-house areas, and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist the Engineering team with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to the Engineering leadership team.
• Assist with property improvement projects, repairs, inspections, and renovations as needed.
