Job summary

Fairfield Inn & Suites Birmingham, part of Ascent Hospitality, is seeking a dependable Hotel Maintenance Worker to join our Engineering Team. This hands-on role supports daily hotel operations by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks to keep guest areas safe, clean, and fully functional.

You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs; inspect guest rooms and public spaces; assist with projects and work with outside vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, back-of-house areas, and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist the Engineering team with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to the Engineering leadership team.
• Assist with property improvement projects, repairs, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Support outside vendors and contractors while working on hotel property.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Help ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning property that exceeds guest expectations.

Pay Range: Starting at $17.00 per hour (Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and overall experience)
