Job summary

Fairfield Inn & Suites - Montgomery is seeking a dependable Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Engineering Department and support daily hotel operations in Montgomery, AL. You will supervise the engineering team, coordinate preventative maintenance, and respond to guest needs to maintain high standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong troubleshooting across building systems, and collaboration with vendors and hotel leadership to ensure safety and exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance/engineering staff in a hotel environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Comfortable coordinating with vendors and hotel leadership on equipment and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily activities of the Engineering and Maintenance Team.
• Perform and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Troubleshoot and assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and exterior spaces to identify maintenance needs.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and inspections.
• Ensure hotel equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies are properly maintained and organized.
• Assist with training, coaching, and developing Engineering Team members.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to hotel leadership.
• Coordinate and support outside vendors and contractors working on hotel property.
• Assist with inspections, renovations, property improvement projects, and capital projects as needed.
• Monitor compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, OSHA/safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, inspections, and work orders.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Support hotel leadership in maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and well-functioning property that exceeds guest expectations.
