Job summary

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Houston is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform major repairs and preventive tasks across hotel facilities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

You will work with multiple teams, handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general building systems, respond to guest requests promptly, and keep equipment ready for the next shift while complying with brand policies and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Advanced vocational training plus two years of general building maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting 100–300 pounds.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Professional certification and license if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc., replenishes supplies and inventory in a timely manner, and minimizes waste.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
• Perform maintenance and repairs for assigned area of expertise such as interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, HVAC, ventilation, and water treatment systems.
• Adhere to safety regulations and brand standards; report unsafe conditions; may educate hotel staff on safe equipment use; may perform additional duties as assigned.
