Job summary

Shaner Hotels' Towanda Fairfield Inn & Suites Towanda Wysox is seeking a Preventative Maintenance professional to maintain guest rooms, public areas, and building systems per the hotel's preventive maintenance program. You will respond to work orders and coordinate with the Rooms Division.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years in building maintenance or trades, and the ability to read safety and maintenance manuals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; college degree or vocational training a plus.
• Any building trade license/certificate from the state of hotel’s operation preferred.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Minimum two years’ experience in building trades or plant operations.
• Basic working knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to enforce hotel standards, policies and procedures with staff.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work.
• Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis.
• Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms.
• Complete other special projects assigned.
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Handle chemicals safely and maintain tools and equipment.
