Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts at Kimpton Fort Lauderdale Beach seeks a Maintenance/Engineering professional to safeguard building systems and guest safety, ensuring energy efficiency and smooth operations.

You will handle preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and routine upkeep across systems, pools, decor, and facilities, while collaborating with a hospitality team to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling or military training plus certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to climb, stand, walk, and lift 25–50 lbs with/without accommodation.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to receive and report progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders to maintain hotel quality.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance (e.g., room care).
• Check electrical systems and perform minor repairs.
• Repair and maintain hotel equipment, including HVAC, boilers, kitchen and laundry gear.
• Service the hotel pool and maintain chemical balances.
• Maintain exterior areas and curb appeal.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms.
• Move furniture and fixtures as needed.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Operate heavy machinery and comply with safety rules.
• Attend regularly and perform other duties as assigned.
