Job summary

StepStone Hospitality is seeking a dependable Engineering Maintenance Technician to join our Boston Needham hotel team. The role focuses on maintaining the property, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience in hotel maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and the ability to diagnose and repair building systems and guestroom issues. Strong safety and teamwork ethos is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance or engineering is preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays as needed.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms and public areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest service calls.
• Complete routine inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities.
• Maintain pool, grounds, lighting, and exterior areas as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
• Assist with painting, carpentry, drywall, and minor renovations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders.
• Support emergency response procedures and after-hours needs when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
