Job summary

B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group is seeking a reliable maintenance professional at the Homewood Suites Arlington to support engineering operations and protect hotel assets.

You will work with the Chief Engineer on preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety protocols, while delivering guest‑focused service and collaborating with other departments to uphold high standards of quality. Evening shifts and weekend availability are required to meet guest needs and operate within hotel schedules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. CPO and appliance repair certification desired, or ability to obtain certification based on property needs.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred. Attention to detail, customer focus, and ability to perform duties in a fast‑paced environment.
• Drywall repair experience required.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis throughout the shift.
• Availability for evening shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engineering: Learn and demonstrate the ability to maintain property assets. Work with the Chief Engineer to understand preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, and capital expenditures, and recognize how maintaining assets impacts hotel financial success.
• Guest Service: Assist and respond to guest requests in a friendly, positive manner, providing the highest level of service and demonstrating knowledge of hotel rooms, repairs, and common area maintenance.
• Identify concerns and provide maintenance solutions: Assess and evaluate property assets through preventive maintenance and recommend maintenance service solutions in collaboration with appropriate managers.
• Follow standard operating procedures: Work with the Chief Engineer to learn, understand, and execute all engineering SOPs.
• Collaborate with others: Act as a team player in meeting guest needs and contribute to other departments’ efforts when necessary, completing duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities within the engineering department.
• Work safely: Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, local, state, and federal regulations. Use personal protective equipment when required and follow all incident procedures. Understand hotel emergency procedures.
• Self‑management: Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing duties as directed by the Chief Engineer. Adhere to attendance policy, work rules, and department procedures, and attend all required meetings.
