Job summary

Island Hospitality is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician for a Fort Lauderdale property. The role covers inspection, repair, and maintenance of hotel systems and equipment, with a focus on safety and preventive care. Flexible scheduling is required.

The technician collaborates with the Chief Engineer and management, handles work orders, and supports guest services while maintaining building exteriors and common areas in excellent condition.

Qualifications

• Must be a highly motivated team player with initiative and achievement orientation.
• Ability to handle problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
• Able to work well under stress and complete work orders promptly.
• Provide excellent guest service and be ready to assist guests when needed.
• Must be available to respond to emergencies on short notice and follow hotel emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards and notify supervisors of damages.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out painting, minor roof repairs, and other exterior projects.
• Repair pool and exercise room equipment as needed.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs and manage consumable stocks.
• Collaborate with Chief Engineer and management to complete technical projects.
• Prepare shift reports for management.
• Report for exterior maintenance during bad weather when required.
