Job summary

Collegiate Hotel Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Hotel 1928 to join its team of hospitality enthusiasts. The role involves general maintenance across guest units, buildings, pools, and common areas, with hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 3 years in hotel maintenance, and optional trade/college education in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School education; post-high school education preferred
• Minimum of 3 years in Maintenance position, preferably within hotels
• Preferred but not necessary: Two years of college or trade school equivalent in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Detail oriented; strives for excellence in all assignments

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance in guest units, buildings, pools, and common areas
• Uses hand tools and power tools for repairs and troubleshooting carpentry, plumbing, electric, and HVAC issues
• Repairs and installs appliances as needed with minimal supervision
• Maintains plumbing: pipes, drains, faucets, disposals, showers, tubs
• Troubleshoots electrical issues on equipment, fixtures, outlets and switches
• Inspects and performs preventative maintenance in units and public areas
• Reports and repairs safety issues in guest units, buildings, pools, common areas, and equipment
• Completes daily assignments in a timely manner
• Prioritizes work orders and coordinates with front desk for updates
• Maintains property appearance: trash/debris removal, spills, exterior fixtures cleaning
• Performs minor plaster repair and blends surfaces
• Applies wallpaper, paints, sealers, and solvents to various surfaces
• Other duties as assigned
