Job summary

ARK is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our facility maintenance operations, overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related systems to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.

The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic planning, managing maintenance teams, coordinating preventive maintenance, and ensuring brand standards across the property. Excellent problem-solving and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive facilities maintenance leadership.
• Strong leadership with staff development, evaluations and scheduling.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our facility maintenance operations. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and functionality of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem‑solving skills, and proven experience managing maintenance teams in a dynamic, fast- paced environment.

As a key member of our operations team, the Chief Engineer ensures all building systems operate efficiently, comply with safety standards, and meet brand expectations.

• Report maintenance, safety, or security concerns immediately to management.
• Support preventative maintenance and deep-cleaning projects during slower periods
• Assist with room inspections to ensure readiness and that rooms are back in service.
• Help strip rooms during high departures and assist with deep cleaning projects

Compensation

$16 - $20 hourly

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills with experience in staff development, evaluations, and scheduling.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, including team leadership.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
