Job summary

The Elyton Hotel in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Engineering team in maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and building systems. You will manage preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, coordinate work orders, and ensure safety and high property standards.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this hands-on role requires strong leadership, scheduling flexibility, and a commitment to guest satisfaction and operational excellence in a premier hotel

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience.
• Previous supervisory or lead maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and guest-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer with daily operation of the Engineering Department.
• Supervise and coordinate Maintenance Workers and Engineering team members.
• Prioritize and follow up on maintenance work orders.
• Perform preventive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to guest room and operational maintenance concerns.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to identify maintenance issues before they impact the guest experience.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and equipment issues.
• Train and mentor Engineering team members on procedures and safety.
