Job summary

Hampton Inn Abilene is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other hotel systems running smoothly. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, handle guest room and public area service, and tackle routine repairs with a focus on safety and guest comfort.

This hands-on role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and experience in hotel maintenance or a related field; trade licenses are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Technical & Preventive Maintenance Powerhouse: daily inspections, repairs and fine-tuning across plumbing, HVAC, electrical and other systems.
• Handle preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on essential equipment (refrigerators to ice machines).
• Tackle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to keep the hotel beautiful and operational.
• Quick-Fix Hero: solve equipment hiccups, leaks and electrical issues; manage emergencies like fire alarms and outages with guest safety in mind.
• Safety Superpowers: follow OSHA guidelines, move objects over 50 lbs., climb ladders, and keep work areas safe and organized.
