Job summary

Hampton Inn Abilene is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to keep guest rooms and public areas in top working order. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, and respond to equipment issues to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff.

The ideal candidate has hotel maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift heavy objects while following OSHA safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, repairs and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other hotel systems.
• Handle emergencies such as fire alarms and power outages with guest safety in mind.
• Move and lift heavy objects, follow OSHA guidelines, keep work areas clean and safe.

KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical & Preventive Maintenance Powerhouse: Take charge of daily inspections, repairs, and fine-tuning across our hotel's plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems- catching small issues before they become big ones. Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on essential equipment (from refrigerators to ice machines), keeping everything running smoothly for an exceptional guest experience. Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to ensure our hotel remains both beautiful and fully operational.
• Quick-Fix Hero: Jump into action to solve equipment hiccups, leaks, and those mysterious electrical issues- no problem too puzzling! Tackle emergencies like fire alarms and power outages with cool confidence, always putting guest safety front and center.
• Safety Superpowers: Move objects over 50 lbs., scale ladders, and power through physically demanding tasks with strength and stamina. Follow OSHA safety guidelines when wielding tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery- safety first, always! Keep work areas spotless and safe, with proper storage for tools and hazardous materials to protect everyone.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
