Job summary

Mainsail Lodging & Development is seeking an Engineer II to maintain hotel facilities, ensuring safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems, and collaborating with the Engineering Team on larger projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in hospitality maintenance, solid HVAC/electrical/plumbing knowledge, and strong communication and organizational skills to support safe and efficient

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and technical or trade school certification in building maintenance or related fields is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance or engineering in a hospitality or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment.
• Knowledge of fire alarms, emergency power, and energy management systems.
• Excellent communication skills, working well with other departments and handling guest interactions professionally.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance and repair of hotel facilities across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and complete preventive maintenance while supporting the Engineering Team on larger tasks.
• Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Log readings from meters and gauges and maintain daily activity records.
• Keep engineering areas clean, organized, and tools properly stored.
• Provide technical advice and training to other engineers as needed.
