Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Level 1 Engineer responsible for maintaining the property in excellent condition and minimizing guest disruption. You will perform HVAC repairs, electrical and plumbing tasks, and preventive maintenance across hotel systems.

The role requires reading blueprints, safety compliance, and strong guest-service focus. Regular hours may extend to accommodate hotel operations; a Highgate uniform and standards apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or College coursework in related field helpful.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical).
• Take required readings on equipment and test cooling tower readings.
• Replace and program televisions, switches, receptacles and fixtures.
• Perform plumbing repairs and read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and ensure compliance with codes.
• Inspect and repair pools and spas; perform other duties as requested by management.
