Job summary

WATT HOTEL in Rahway, NJ is seeking an experienced Hotel Engineer to perform general maintenance, ensuring safety standards and high-quality hotel operations. You will work under the Chief Engineer with responsibilities spanning electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems.

The role requires knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to handle lifting tasks, with daily PM of guest rooms and support for other departments. Hilton brand experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in related field.
• Min 2 years maintenance experience pref. in a hotel required. Hilton brand experience a plus.
• Experience in technology maintenance is required, cleaning experience preferred.
• Completion of apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician is a plus.
• HVAC, Electricity, or Plumbing Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general hotel maintenance to meet safety standards.
• Maintain plumbing and electrical systems; replace worn parts.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedule and log entries.
• Respond to life safety issues (fire alarms, smoke detectors, door locks).
• PM guest rooms daily and assist guests.
• Assist other departments with moving furniture and stocking supplies.
