Job summary

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is seeking an Engineer / Maintenance Technician for Hilton Garden Inn – Ridgefield Park, NJ. You will perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs of hotel facilities, ensuring safety, function, and guest comfort.

Responsibilities include HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and preventive maintenance, with on-call support as needed at a fast-paced hospitality property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of hotel or building maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs; capable of climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• EPA certification and/or boiler license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on guestrooms, public spaces, and equipment.
• Respond to guest room calls and service requests professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and related areas.
• Assist in safety systems maintenance (fire alarms, sprinklers).
• Work with GM/Chief Engineer to manage schedules and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies including OSHA regulations.
• Maintain logs of completed work, inspections, and inventory.
• Support energy conservation initiatives and cost-effective utility use.
