Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a reliable Hotel Maintenance Engineer to maintain guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems in Mount Laurel, NJ. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience and strong troubleshooting, with a focus on safety and guest service.

The successful candidate will perform routine and preventive maintenance, respond to requests from guests and staff, and coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in hotel, hospitality, building, facilities, or general maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces for maintenance issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical problems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
• Repair or replace fixtures, light switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, doors, locks, and other equipment.
• Perform basic HVAC troubleshooting and coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are required.
• Maintain hotel equipment and building systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and safety concerns.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk teams to address room maintenance issues.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Follow OSHA, safety, fire, and hotel policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
