Job summary

The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our hospitality team. You will respond to guest maintenance requests, perform routine upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior areas, and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of general maintenance experience in a hotel setting, hold a US driver’s license, and can work flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years general maintenance experience, hotel/lodging environment preferred.
• Active US driver’s license.
• Successful background check completion.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including midweek and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest calls using the maintenance work order system and update task statuses.
• Communicate with guests to update them on repair progress in rooms and public areas.
• Perform routine maintenance, light carpentry, painting, plumbing, and other tasks as assigned.
• Inspect facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness; report and escalate issues as needed.
• Assist with safety procedures and compliance, including OSHA guidelines and emergency plans.
