Job summary

The General Maintenance Engineer at Thompson Austin will cover shifts and bring strong trouble‑shooting skills to both hotel and residence maintenance. The role spans guest rooms, meeting spaces, front and back of house areas, and requires hands‑on repair across drywall, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

You will also be responsible for making ready vacated apartments, understanding major building management systems, and delivering excellent guest service in front‑of‑house situations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.
• Good customer skills are also required.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Ensure that all vacated apartments in the Sienna residences are thoroughly restored to "make ready" status and diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as drywalling, painting, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• A strong working knowledge of all major building management systems (BMS) and mechanical systems.
• Strong customer services skills, as you will also manage front of house/guest facing situations.
