Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts at The Westin Waltham Boston is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Engineer to maintain building systems and the building envelope, ensuring the safety of guests and staff and compliance with codes.

You will perform preventative maintenance, assist with repairs to electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fixtures, and keep detailed logs. Strong communication and physical stamina are required for this on-site role in Waltham, MA.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry).
• Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to climb, stand, walk, and lift 25–50 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to take and report progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and report work orders (ceiling tiles, light bulbs, vinyl repair).
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., room care).
• Inspect electrical systems, HVAC controls, lighting, and perform minor repairs.
• Support major repairs of hotel equipment including boilers, pumps, and plumbing fixtures.
• Service the pool and maintain chemical levels; document logs.
• Maintain exterior areas and curb appeal; refurbish guest room furniture.
