Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to care for our property in Utah. You will maintain equipment, systems, and building components, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, while delivering personable service to guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities include repairs, installation of lighting, carpet cleaning, and routine inspections. A flexible schedule with evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer or in a comparable maintenance role.
• Ability to be yourself, lead yourself, make it count!
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment.
• Build, repair, and paint all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replace lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines to detect malfunctions and discuss repairs with supervisors.
• Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
• Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures.
• Attend scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in delivering and setup of new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects as assigned.
• Respond to customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
