Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is seeking a Hotel Engineer to maintain and repair building systems across the property, ensuring guest comfort and safety. You’ll work with mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment, keeping facilities efficient and reliable.

The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Previous hotel engineering experience is preferred; candidates should be reliable, detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer is preferred.
• Flexible schedule; evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to be yourself and lead yourself.

Responsibilities

• Build, repairs, and paints all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replaces lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to diagnose problems.
• Dismantle defective machines and install repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain the hotel’s physical structure.
• Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures.
• Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance.
• Assist in delivering and setup of new equipment.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects.
• Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
