Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Georgetown Area seeks an Engineer to perform preventative and repair maintenance in a hotel setting, ensuring quality and sustainability standards while delivering warm guest service.

The role covers room inspections, electrical and plumbing tasks, carpentry, and equipment maintenance, with emphasis on safety, code compliance, and keeping records; shifts may vary and staff shortages may require extra duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and trade school coursework in related field.
• Previous engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, lights and fixtures.
• Repair furniture.
• Install, replace and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Repair and maintain heating/cooling pumps; perform preventive maintenance on units.
• Trace and repair water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Work to local, state and Federal codes.
• Support guest satisfaction scores and assist with service recovery.
• Be prepared to assist as bell attendant during shortages or peak periods.
