Job summary

Hilton is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Engineer (NON-EXEMPT) at our Raleigh, NC property. The role supports general hotel maintenance across mechanicals, electrical, plumbing, exterior/interior finishing and information systems.

Reports to Chief Maintenance Engineer / GM. Requires a High School diploma or GED and 6–12 months related experience. A hands-on, safety-conscious environment with weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and experience of general carpentry, exterior finishing, interior finishing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, FF&E, landscaping, and information systems technology.

Responsibilities

• Seek opportunities to exceed guest and team member’s expectations.
• Maintain an efficient preventive maintenance schedule for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks.
• Maintain an efficient filing system for preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain an efficient schedule for inspections and a compliant/non-compliant actions file.
• Maintain an emergency action plan.
• Maintain an updated MSDS filing system.
• Ensure safety protocols comply with NC OSHA.
• Maintain an inventory control system for maintenance supplies and tools.
• Maintain a budget control system.
• Maintain contacts for suppliers and contractors, including emergency contacts.
• Support hiring and release protocols.
• Maintain a training schedule for engineering technicians on preventive maintenance.
• Track work orders efficiently.
• Coordinate communications and logistics for inter-department work.
• Assist in technical or labor-intensive projects and provide needed tools.
• Schedule contractors outside PM scope.
• Wear hotel-issued uniforms (namely nametags) during shifts; non-slip shoes required.
